PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Doctor of Jewish Sectarianism (D.J.S.) is an advanced doctoral program designed to provide an in-depth, scholarly understanding of the major Jewish sects, movements, and religious traditions that shaped the historical, theological, and cultural world of the Second Temple period and early Christianity. Students critically examine groups such as the Pharisees, Sadducees, Essenes, Zealots, Samaritans, and other Jewish communities through biblical, historical, archaeological, and literary sources. The program integrates rigorous academic research with biblical theology, historical analysis, and contemporary ministry application, preparing graduates to contribute to theological scholarship, higher education, biblical research, and informed Christian ministry with a deeper understanding of Judaism and the New Testament context.
