PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Bachelor of Jewish Sectarianism (B.J.S.) is a comprehensive undergraduate program designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the diverse Jewish sects, movements, and religious traditions that shaped the historical, theological, and cultural context of the Bible. Students will examine the origins, beliefs, practices, and influence of groups such as the Pharisees, Sadducees, Essenes, Zealots, Samaritans, and other significant Jewish communities from the Second Temple period through the early Christian era. The program integrates biblical studies, Jewish history, theology, historical research, and cultural analysis, enabling students to interpret Scripture within its original Jewish context while developing critical thinking, academic research, and ministry skills for teaching, leadership, and intercultural engagement.
